The third World Local Production Forum (WLPF), organised by the Local Production and Assistance Unit (LPA) in partnership with the United Arab Emirates, will emphasise the vital role of local production in promoting resilience, equity, and access to essential health products. Building on previous successes, this year’s forum will focus on generating actionable recommendations to enhance local production, improving access to safe and effective health products, and strengthening health security at global, regional, and national levels.
As Director of Research at the Foundation, Claudia will participate in a plenary panel discussion titled “Driving Sustainable Local Production: The Power of Collaboration and Partnerships,” where she will discuss the Foundation’s work focused on generic medicine manufacturers and expanding access to essential health products.
Claudia will highlight findings from the Generic & Biosimilar Medicines Programme 2023: Company Profiles report, which examines the role of generic manufacturers in addressing global health challenges. She will also share key outcomes from the Foundation’s recent collaborations with the World Economic Forum, including insights from a joint event at the 2023 World Health Assembly on the evolving role of generics in medicine access, as well as highlights from a 2022 virtual workshop on strengthening access through partnerships with generic manufacturers.
