Access to Medicine Foundation in Geneva to discuss the Index’s role in investment opportunities

Bram Wagner, Investor Engagement Officer at the Access to Medicine Foundation, will join a panel discussion, hosted by the Geneva Graduate Institute and the Global Health Centre, on the collaboration between investors and civil society in ensuring equitable access to medicine.

Date

11 October 2023

Date

11 October 2023

Location

Geneva Graduate Institute, Switzerland

Format

In-person

"Global Health Challenges: Can investors and civil society work together?" brings together healthcare investors, financial stakeholders, and pharmaceutical experts to explore solutions and promote equitable medicine access. With countries prioritising universal health coverage under the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, a substantial economic opportunity emerges in the global health sector. This event aims to initiate a community of practice for long-term engagement between these stakeholders, facilitating innovative collaboration models that will shape the future of global health.

Panel discussion

The panel discussion will feature various case studies demonstrating the impact of finance, business, and civil society collaborations that drive societal and planetary health improvements. Speakers will share best practices, overcoming challenges, and discuss how to engage policymakers.

Bram will focus on the Access to Medicines Case Study. He will discuss how investors can use the Access to Medicine Index to evaluate engagement in access by companies in which they invest. He will also highlight the Foundation's work with investors, the role of the Index, and examples of coalition-building and stakeholder partnerships.
