Access to Medicine Foundation - Closing the health equity gap

Access to medicine should never depend on where a person lives. Yet for millions of people in low- and middle-income countries, lifesaving medicines, vaccines, antibiotics, diagnostics and other essential health products, including those critical for women and children, remain out of reach.  

As health systems around the world face growing challenges, including drug-resistant infections, rising rates of heart disease and cancer, and the threat of future pandemics, the need to close healthcare access gaps has never been more urgent. 

Our approach

For more than 20 years, the Access to Medicine Foundation has served as an independent, non-profit catalyst for change, tracking, benchmarking and guiding the world’s most influential pharmaceutical companies to expand access to essential healthcare products for the people who that need them most, regardless of where they live. 

Our proven model of change 

The Access to Medicine Foundation drives change through a multi-faceted model that combines rigorous research, engagement with pharmaceutical and healthcare companies to identify opportunities to expand access and unleashing the power of institutional investors and governments to drive impact. To date, over 145 investors managing assets of more than USD 22 trillion use our data and insights to advance access.
