Gowri Gopalakrishna is a Researcher at the Foundation, and member of the research team for the Antimicrobial Resistance Benchmark. She is an epidemiologist and public health policy scientist. Gowri has co-ordinated high-level strategic and expert advisory committees at an international level, including with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in the US, with the WHO, Health Canada and various Ministries of Health. Before joining the Foundation, she worked for several years as an epidemiologist in the pharmaceutical industry. Gowri has completed research into the control and prevention of SARS and the setting up of Singapore’s first national biosafety policies. Gowri holds a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Medicine and a PhD from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
